Despite the fact that women make up 50% of our population, most still don't have equal rights to education or livelihood opportunities. This is a significant challenge especially in India. We believe that investing in women’s economic empowerment by helping marginalised women become financially independent helps correct other social evils like gender inequality, poverty, domestic violence and female illiteracy.
With this vision in mind, H&L is actively engaging with Awake (https://awakeindia.org.in) to come with innovative ways to train and employ women. This equips them to make strategic life decisions and have more freedom to pursue their desired goals. We are focussed on making this project an impactful one for the community in which we live in.
